The great literacy researcher Elizabeth Birr Moje of University of Michigan delivers this TED-style talk at an educational research conference. She draws our attention to the legitimacy of young peoples’ literacies in and out of school and dispels the myth that literacy is a linear process of acquiring skills. Literacy is not a skill, it’s a culture(s).
