I occasionally watch clips from Project Runway. Not whole episodes, but clips. I think one of the things I’m drawn to is the studio-style pedagogy that takes place. In studio-style pedagogies, students create artifacts as responses to a prompt or challenge, then they receive frequent real-time feedback via critique. Watch Tim Gunn do this in the clip–he appears to care about the student, is aware of her areas of growth, and frames his critique with full awareness of the wider realities of the fashion world.
