It’s not enough to adopt new standards, to open new school models, to use technology, or even to pass laws. American schools remain deeply segregated. Few people are writing deeply enough about education, sadly. Most of what we see in the news are quick feel-good or feel-bad kinds of stories. Two exceptions have been The Atlantic magazine and some work in The New York Times.
