WTF? Croissants Will Not Give NYC Students “Energy”
I was astonished to see this advertisement in the subway the other day. While riding the 2 train to a middle school in the Bronx, I looked up and saw a croissant-like ship scuttling on the sea. Promises of health and energy. But, it’s a croissant. It’s mostly processed flour, sugar, and butter. Nutrition is one of the least discussed issues in schools–that is, what we are providing our children in terms of healthy meals, exercise, and understanding. This advertisement does little to make things better.
