Essay or Assay: Merriam-Webster “Tries” to Explain the Difference
The essay is by far my favorite genre, to read and to write. A far cry from what it looks like in schools, Merriam-Webster reminds us of the essay’s expansive reach.
‘Essay’: 💪 to try, attempt, or undertake
‘Assay’: ⚖️ to test or evaluate
‘Essay’ (noun): ✍️ the thing you rush to finish before it’s duehttps://t.co/rGoEtlJLOL— Merriam-Webster (@MerriamWebster) December 27, 2017
