It takes under ten minutes for Stanford professor Linda Darling-Hammond to explain what the United States can learn from the way other countries educate their children. Seriously. One idea that really resonated is we have to understand that public education greatly rests in state control in the U.S., and that state education officials can learn a great deal from the systems and values implemented by other countries.
