Malcolm Gladwell on His Creative Process

It is a unique talent to translate complex phenomena to others in a way that is insightful, engaging, and avoids infantilizing the recipient. Gladwell has mastered that craft, both in written form and with his podcast series. In this interview, I particularly related to Gladwell’s preference for conceptual exploration grounded in experience as opposed to picking up the phone and interviewing people, a hallmark of traditional reporting, which he finds “invasive.” Come to think of it, I’m not the type who typically likes sitting to watch other people converse either. But this exchange is an exception.
