An Easy Way to Start Coding in English Class (And Beyond)
Start with Scratch, not From Scratch
Here is an excellent example of a low-lift activity to get started exploring programming in English class. All you need is a Scratch account, an example like this one, and some imagination. You can create animations with students to emphasize anything you want, in any content area: recreate a scene from a play, show how a general plotted a famous battle, bring a poem to life, retell a debate between political parties. (Possibilities abound. Social studies teachers might find this blog post useful.)
