What More Could Sally Ride’s School Have Done to Prepare Her to be an Astronaut?
One would think we do better today.
Listen to this 1983 interview with astronaut Sally Ride by Gloria Steinem. What stands out to me most is both the way Ride talks about her school preparation and the kinds of questions she got from the press before the mission. In both cases, I wonder just how far we’ve come today. Certainly not light years, but perhaps miles.
